My Value Add

My background in venture building, investment, and deep technical training gives me a perspective that few VCs possess in Latin America. I not only know how to evaluate companies on paper and support PortCos, but I’ve also been in the trenches of creating and spinning out startups myself. This means I can:

Differentiate hype/investment trends from potential industry-disruptive opportunities.

Bridge conversations between founders, scientists, and investors fluently.

Spot scientific, operational, and market risks early and turn them into concrete de-risking strategies that strengthen investment decisions.

Identify, source, and evaluate, deep-tech ventures, and support them through the journey of designing and scaling novel technologies or even first-ok-a-kind (FOAK) systems.

Relevant Experience

IMPACT INVESTMENT

At the Kirchner Impact Foundation I sourced and evaluated 100+ early-stage agtech mexican ventures for a potential catalytic investment of USD 50K. At ATTA Impact Capital I sourced and evaluated 30+ SMEs from Central America and Southern Mexico for potential equity and redeemable equity investments.  I am also an angel investor for NanoWeave and Lilliput Technologies.

VENTURE BUILDING & PORTFOLIO SUPPORT

At Deep Science Ventures, I led the creation of two startups in the agriculture, and climate technology sectors: NanoWeave and New Water Labs. I also led the portfolio management for two additional companies: Lilliput Technologies and Aquanzo, conducting quarterly stack rankings, seeking new investors and refining the companies' positioning to accelerate their growth and fundraising readiness.

INVESTMENT READINESS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUPPORT

At Village Capital, I have identified and selected +500 high-potential startups across four investment-readiness programs for clients such as Unilever, Moody's, and Johnson & Johnson, with the goal of promoting ESG criteria, sustainability, health equity, and environmental restoration. I have closely worked with 36+ companies to strengthen their fundraising and investment readiness journeys.

RESEARCH & SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPMENT

My scientific background includes extensive training in nanomaterial design for drug and genetic material delivery at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, and wastewater-based epidemiology at Tecnologico de Monterrey, where I developed a nano-structured membrane-based passive sampler to improve sampling procedures for wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) to monitor SARS-CoV-2, other viral pathogens and contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) in 38+ sites across Mexico.
